Dear Parents

Welcome to our Happy Hearts Daycare Center! Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing and educational environment where children can learn, grow and develop through play, exploration and positive relationships.

We are committed to supporting each child's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development while maintaining open communication and strong partnerships with families.

Holiday Closures

Holiday Policy

These holidays are included in the regular tuition rate. Tuition remains due regardless of scheduled holiday closures, and no credits or refunds are provided for these days.

Snow Day Policy

The center allows one (1) snow day per calendar year. Tuition remains due during snow-related closures.

Family Vacation

Families receive two (2) weeks of vacation per calendar year while maintaining enrollment. Requests should be submitted at least two weeks in advance.

Enrollment Requirements

Before enrollment, parents must provide the following:

  • Enrollment Form
  • Emergency Contact Information
  • Child Health Assessment
  • Immunization Records
  • Allergy Information (if applicable)
  • Medication Authorization Forms (if applicable)
  • Custody Documentation (if applicable)

Parents are responsible for updating all information as changes occur.

Arrival, Departure & Attendance

Sign-In & Sign-Out

  • Children must be signed in and signed out daily by a parent or authorized adult
  • Children will only be released to individuals listed on the Emergency Contact Form
  • Identification may be required at any time
  • Any changes to authorized pick-up persons must be submitted in writing

Attendance & Absences

Regular attendance is important for your child's development and participation in classroom activities.

Parents should notify the center whenever a child will be absent or arriving late.

Late Pick-Up — The center closes promptly at 7 PM. A late fee of $1 per minute applies after closing.

Health & Illness

For the health and safety of all children, a child should remain home if he or she has any of the following:

  • Fever of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher
  • Severe cough
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Contagious illness
  • Unexplained rash
  • Any condition preventing participation in daily activities
Returning to Child Care
  • Fever-free for 48 hours without medication
  • Vomiting- and diarrhea-free for 24 hours
  • Cleared by a physician when necessary

Parents will be contacted immediately if a child becomes ill during the day.

Medication Policy

Medication will only be administered when it is:

  • In the original container
  • Properly labeled
  • Accompanied by written parent authorization
  • Prescription medications include physician instructions

All medications are documented according to Pennsylvania regulations.

Allergies & Special Health Needs

Parents must notify the center of:

  • Food allergies
  • Medication allergies
  • Medical conditions
  • Dietary restrictions

Emergency Action Plans must be provided when applicable.

Safety & Emergency Procedures

The center conducts regular emergency drills as required by Pennsylvania regulations. Our procedures cover:

Fire Evacuation Severe Weather Emergencies Shelter-in-Place Lockdown Situations

Parents will be notified as soon as possible in the event of an emergency.

Our Educational Program

Children learn through structured activities, guided exploration and purposeful play. Our curriculum supports development in:

Outdoor Play

Outdoor play is an important part of our daily program. Children participate in outdoor activities whenever weather conditions permit — please provide weather-appropriate clothing.

Meals & Nutrition

The center provides nutritious meals and snacks that meet USDA nutritional guidelines. Monthly menus are provided to families. Please notify us of any food allergies or dietary restrictions.

Behavior Guidance

We use positive guidance techniques and involve parents whenever additional support is needed.

Parents are encouraged to discuss any concerns with classroom staff or administration at any time.

Tuition & Fees

All rates below are weekly unless otherwise noted. Tuition is due every Monday.

  • Full Day — 7 AM – 6 PM$275
  • Half Day — 9 AM – 3 PM$225

  • Field Trips$20 – $35

Registration & Other Fees

  • Annual Registration Fee (per child)$100
  • Family Registration Cap$125
  • Summer Camp Registration (per child)$50

Payment Policy

Tuition reserves your child's place in the program and remains due regardless of attendance. All tuition is due on Monday.

No refunds or credits are provided for:

  • Child absences
  • Scheduled holidays
  • Snow day closures
  • Emergency closures
  • Family vacations beyond the two weeks allotted

Confidentiality & Child Protection

Confidentiality

All child and family records are confidential and maintained according to Pennsylvania law and regulations. Information will only be released:

  • With written parental authorization
  • When required by law
  • To authorized licensing agencies

Child Abuse Reporting

In accordance with Pennsylvania law, all child care staff are mandated reporters and must report suspected child abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities.
